Compact and Stylish Design
You can express your style anywhere with this digital camera - it incorporates a beautiful streamlined shape, a user-friendly button arrangement, and stylish design. The excellent design and easy portability enables this digital camera to be used more conveniently.
- Still image mode can easily be changed to movie clip mode just by using the Mode button.
- Shooting-related functions such as exposure compensation and ISO can be set simply.
- This dial near the lens of the camera enables you to change shooting modes (such as Portrait, Landscape, and Macro) with ease.
- The zoom button enables you to enlarge or reduce a picture. This digital camera provides a 4x digital zoom.
- The 5-function button gives you easy access to the flash, self-timer, voice recording and movie playback functions, which are all frequently used, and enables you to set a variety of functions conveniently.
Basic Functions for Taking Pictures
The A402 comes with Auto Exposure of the Multi-Pattern type, so that exposure value is automatically controlled according to the shooting situation. Scene modes (Night, Portrait, Landscape, and Fireworks) are available for taking pictures in optimal conditions according to the shooting situation, so that you can achieve more natural-looking colours in all circumstances. For advanced users, Long Time Shutter and exposure compensation functions are provided (the latter set to ±2EV, adjustable in 0.5EV increments).
More Natural-Looking Colours by Controlling White Balance and Using Custom W/B Function
This digital camera provides White Balance functions (Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Tungsten, and Custom) so that you can achieve more natural-looking colour reproduction under any light conditions. Additionally, RGB enables you to control colours in the way you want.
MPEG-4 Movie Clip with High-Compression and High-Quality in VGA at 24fps
For clearer sharper movies, this camera uses a high compression, high quality movie clip format, and movie clips are supported in VGA (640x480) at 24fps. In VGA (640×480), you can play a movie clip on your TV without any degradation of image quality, and enjoy it in a screen size twice as large as a computer screen. Because this digital camera supports up to 30 frames per second, you can view a smooth movie with natural-looking colours. You can record voice and movies for as long as the available recording time in the memory allows. In addition, you can extract desired frames from the recorded movie. The above features make this digital camera a perfect substitute for a camcorder.
PictBridge (Direct Printing System)
You can use a USB cable to connect this camera to a printer without a PC, and select paper types and sizes supported by the printer from a menu in the camera. Through the LCD of the camera, you can check the printer’s progress status. PictBridge is completely compatible with DPOF so that you can also use the existing output format (DPOF) according to the printer type.

Photo Frame Function
This camera supports 9 types of frame. You can easily use this function by simple setting, and the 9 frames create interesting pictures so that you can get greater enjoyment from them.
Voice Recording and Voice Memo
This camera can be used as a digital voice recorder, and you can record voice for up to one hour. Additionally, you can add your voiceover to a stored still image for up to 10 seconds. Therefore you can use your digital camera in a variety of different ways.
