A versatile camcorder for true 16:9 video and photos, with 25x zoom and DV/AV input.
Widescreen-ready
The MV960 is optimised for true 16:9 widescreen recording - from the high-resolution CCD to a 2.7" wide colour LCD screen with level marker and colour viewfinder. Shot in 16:9 mode, video is perfect for watching back on the latest widescreen TVs. It takes just the push of a single button to switch between 16:9 wide and normal 4:3 shooting.
25x optical zoom
A powerful 25x optical zoom, with image stabilization and variable zoom speeds, delivers the highest optical standards.
Photo capture
A high quality digital photo camera and not just a camcorder, the MV960 saves photos to SD card and features 9-point Artificial Intelligent Auto-focus (AiAF) that keeps off-centre subjects in focus.
DV and AV input
The top-of-the-range MV960 has DV and AV input connections. With DV input, video that has been edited on a computer can be re-recorded to miniDV tape in the camcorder. Analogue-to-digital conversion is possible with AV input, allowing old home movies to be transferred to digital tape for archiving or edited together with new footage.
Night Mode LED
Video can be shot in even the darkest condition thanks to the MV960’s Night Mode LED.
Vibrant colours with DIGIC DV
The MV960 employs Canon’s powerful DIGIC DV imaging engine. DIGIC DV provides separate processing paths for both video and still images, making sure that colours are vivid and vibrant for each. Simultaneous video and photo shooting is also possible.
Easy shooting and control
Key camcorder functions and controls have been refined. For beginners, a one-push Easy Shooting mode sets the most important controls to automatic. A simplified overall layout means that there are only six buttons and a convenient joystick for more creative control. Five Program AE modes are available. An additional wireless controller is supplied, allowing remote control of key functions, letting you get into the shot.
Compact and lightweight
With a new design improving balance and handling, the camcorder weighs just 380g and sports an eye-catching silver metallic finish.

Software supplied
The MV960 is bundled with Canon’s ZoomBrowser (Windows) and ImageBrowser (Macintosh), for easy photo and video image management.
