The brilliant 35mm equivalent 28mm Super Wide Angle to 135mm Super Telephoto Lens enhancing the DIGIMAX A55W provides an undreamt of variety of shooting possibilities in such a small, but beautifully formed camera.

With a range of focal lengths, infinitely variable from 28mm to 135mm, you can choose to include a panoramic view of your subject or to 'come in close'.

The Auto Macro setting on the DIGIMAX A55W is one of several exciting functions included to expand the user's creative opportunities. In Auto Macro, the camera automatically sets the focus when you take shots at very short distances.

In PROG mode, you can modify the resulting brightness of an image depending on the situation. Through the exposure compensation function, you can shoot backlit and other difficult subject with different degrees of brightness , in that way obtaining more satisfactory images. as you want or under specific exposure conditions such as backlight, obtaining thus clearer images.

Frequent users of digital cameras may know the AEB function. The Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) function is helpful in situations when optimal exposure is difficult to achieve. You can take three pictures simultaneously one with normal exposure, one underexposed to give a darker picture and an overexposed shot that will give a lighter result. You can then select the best result.

Most modern advanced digital cameras like the Samsung DIGIMAX A55W will automatically do what is needed to get brilliant end results.
But not every time.

Sometimes, in tricky lighting conditions or when confronted with unusually dark or light subject matter, the camera will appreciate a little extra help to get the best possible picture.

The DIGIMAX A55W has an abundance of help on offer! It gives you numerous scene setting modes from which to choose - all easily accessed with a simple push-button operation. Night Scenes Portraits Children Landscapes, Close-ups Sunsets Dawns Backlit Subjects Fireworks Beach and Snow Scenes.

The DIGIMAX A55W can rise to every tricky challenge!

The DIGIMAX A55W provides special effects beyond typical shooting methods so that you can spend more exciting time shooting and viewing images. The special effects include Colour Effect and Photo Frame. Through the Colour Effect function, you can express images in black and white, sepia, blue, red, green, or film colour. Through the Photo Frame function, you can add frame-like borders (this camera supports 9 types of frames) to a still image.

The arrangement of buttons, such as the Mode dial for selecting a shooting mode and the 5-function button for selecting functions, has been especially designed for easy operation. The Graphic User Interface has been improved and you can set the menus easily and quickly through the Move & Set function. You can also employ the exposure compensation, white balance, and ISO functions by using the +/- button on the back of the camera.

The DIGIMAX A55W provides a built-in memory so that you can take and save pictures without a separate memory card. In addition, this camera provides the Copy to Copy function that allows you to send images saved in an internal memory to an external memory.

This brilliant Double Self-Timer Function often saves the day! It is especially useful when you take self-portraits or group pictures. Frequently a delayed action group picture is a disappointment. Having waited 10 seconds for the shutter to fire, one or more members of your group have strained expressions on their faces. Then you have to go through the whole routine again.

But the DIGIMAX A55W Double Self-Timer takes TWO shots one after 10 seconds and a second shot two seconds later - when everyone has laughed with relief, and relaxed. So often the second picture is the better picture!

The DIGIMAX A55W has its own built-in image editing programme! No need to download you photos into a computer. You can makes changes and corrections to your pictures in the camera. The function enables a slide show of pictures taken, resolution changes, a trimming function, image rotation, and picture protection so that you can use the camera more conveniently.

This digital camera provides White Balance functions (Daylight, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Tungsten, and Custom) so that you can achieve more natural-looking colour reproduction under any light conditions. Additionally, RGB enables you to control colours in the way you want.

For clearer sharper movies, this camera uses a high compression, high quality movie clip format, and movie clips are supported in VGA (640x480) at 30fps. In VGA (640?80), you can play a movie clip on your TV without any degradation of image quality. Because this digital camera supports up to 30 frames per second, you can view a smooth movie with natural-looking colours. You can record voice and movies for as long as the available recording time in the memory allows. In addition, you can extract frames from the recorded movie and save them as still pictures. The above features make this digital camera a perfect substitute for a camcorder.

The DIGIMAX A55W provides a camera shake prevention function during movie recording. This function detects camera shake automatically and traces the target subject when recording a movie. With the movie function making this digital camera a perfect substitute for a small digital camcorder, the DIGIMAX A55W is the perfect choice for taking still and movie pictures of important family occasions.

The DIGIMAX A55W incorporates some movie editing functions usually found only in a computer and the successive recording function developed through Samsung’s own technology enables you to pause during unwanted scenes and resume recording the movie later. Using this function, you can record your favourite scenes into a movie clip without having to create multiple movie clips.
