The latest addition to the FinePix range of SLR–styled cameras, the S5500 Zoom features a 4 million effective pixel CCD and an awesome 10x optical zoom lens. The lens gives a 35mm equivalent range of 37–370mm, more than enough scope for even the most demanding photographers.
Building on the success of the best–selling FinePix S5000 Zoom, the S5500 retains the ergonomic design and the easy–to–use functionality of its predecessor. The S5500 Zoom also adds full VGA movie recording at 30 frames per second, custom white balance control, histogram playback and 100% frame coverage; features you would normally expect from a high–end digital camera. The professional look and feel to the S5500 Zoom is supported further with an average shutter lag time of approximately 0.05seconds, one of the quickest seen in this style of camera.

Created with ease of use and convenience in mind, the FinePix S5500 Zoom is powered by four AA size batteries or an AC power adapter and comes complete with a Video Out socket for reviewing images and movies on a compatible TV screen. The S5500 Zoom also adds PictBridge™ functionality, the industry standard for direct printing without the need for a PC or Mac.
