Higher resolution at a lower price.
The surprising PowerShot A610 offers many features you'd expect to find only on higher end models. For example, there's a 5.0 Megapixel CCD that lets you print large, richly detailed prints. Just as importantly, this camera is equipped with a complete range of advanced functions that make shooting relaxed and simple - whether you're a novice or a pro.

Experience the quality
Within its sleek body, the PowerShot A610 has all the top-quality Canon features that make your pictures really stand out. There's the 5.0 Megapixel CCD that reveals even tiny details in crisp, clear color - both on your screen and in your prints. Even tight close-ups are super easy thanks to the longer, retractable 4x Optical Zoom.

This LCD Monitor Does the Twist
The PowerShot A610 has a big 2.0 inch LCD screen with an astonishing 115,000 pixels of resolution. So whether you're setting up your shot or playing it back, everything is bright and clear. The vari-angle design lets you swivel the LCD screen 180° to the front of the camera and display either a mirror image or a non-reversed image so you can shoot from just about any position.

Capture the moment in any situation
The PowerShot A610's cleanly integrated grip gives you a comfortable, steady hold. And you can count on exact focus no matter where your subject is in the frame. Plus, you've also got Special Scene Mode that gives you breathtaking, exhilarating pictures even when shooting conditions are tough.

Auto
The camera chooses all the settings so you can concentrate on your subject.

P Program
Access advanced exposure compensation features while shooting mostly automatic.

Av Aperture-priority
You define the aperture, and the camera will choose the corresponding shutter speed.

Tv Shutter-priority
You select the shutter speed, and the camera finds the appropriate aperture. With slow exposure times. Canon's noise reduction system activates to ensure low image noise.

Manual
The ultimate in creative control, you set ISO speed, exposure compensation and white balance.

C Custom
Define and store your own settings to achieve the effects you prefer.

Portrait
The camera sets a large aperture, focuses the subject and artistically blurs the background to make your subject "pop."

Landscape
For front to back sharpness, the camera sets a small aperture.

Night Scene
For impressive sunset or nightlife shots, the camera properly exposes the background and uses slow-sync flash for the subject.

Stitch Assist
Build inspiring panoramas by neatly aligning sequential images.

Movie
Shoot in QVGA (60 fps) or QQVGA (15 fps up to 3 minutes video).

Special Scene Mode

Foliage
Capture brilliant shots of autumn foliage, greenery or blossoms.

Snow
Shoot clear snow scenes without darkened subjects and bluish tint.

Beach
Get clear shots of people at a sunny beach without the darkened faces.

Fireworks
Grab brilliant images of skyrocketing fireworks.

Underwater
Capture underwater images with reduced backscatter effect.

Indoor
Reduces blur and improves color accuracy when shooting handheld indoors.

Kids & Pets
Reduced time lag freezes fast-moving subjects so you won't miss those special shots.

Night Snapshot
Get natural looking pictures with brighter backgrounds and subjects lit by flash.

Canon Technology Maximizes Quality and Performance
The PowerShot A610 is powered by Canon's DIGIC II Image Processor. Designed to improve processing speed and image quality, DIGIC II provides markedly faster camera startup, autofocus and playback, plus it assures that every image is more colorfully vibrant.

Shoot high-quality movies
Now A610 enables you to record QVGA (320 x 240), 60 fps movies up to 1 minute. PowerShot A610 also supports the USB 2.0 Hi-Speed standard, so you'll enjoy the highest possible data transfer speeds when using a USB 2.0 compatible computer. The camera's performance level is high enough to take full advantage of super-high-speed SD memory cards as well.

A variety of accessories to take a better shot
The PowerShot A610 lets you add value and take your photography even further with optional accessories. Wide Converter and Tele Converter lenses prepare you for capturing any shot perfectly while a High-Power Flash doubles your flash range for pro-level illumination.
Note: When using the converter lenses, we recommend using the LCD screen to preview composition and refraining from the use of the built-in flash to avoid harsh shadows in the resulting photos.

he Complete Print Solution
The PowerShot A610's Print/Share button makes direct printing easier than ever. Simply connect the A610 to a Canon CP, SELPHY or PIXMA Photo Printer or any PictBridge compatible photo printer, press the lighted Print/Share button and print! Also use the Print/Share button to transfer images directly to a computer (Windows® and Macintosh®).
Print your own ID photos in 28 different sizes or use the Movie Print function to output multiple stills from a recorded movie on a single sheet using a Canon SELPHY Photo Printer.

Direct Photo Printers
For desktop large-format printing, try one of the Direct Photo Printers that allow you to print directly in one of two ways: plug the compatible PowerShot camera into the Direct Photo Printer using the supplied cable, or simply insert a memory card into the supplied adapter. You can also connect the printer to your computer for more options. Print high resolution borderless images in postcard size or 8.5"x 11" size within minutes.
