The MV600 series allows everyone from camcorder beginners, frequent travellers and families to select a camcorder most suited to their needs. Consisting of four models, each bringing users enhanced specifications, better connectivity and improved performance in a compact and stylish new design.
Based on the popular MV500 Series the new stylish design has been refreshed still utilising different colours to emphasise the individuality of each model. These new additions to the MV line-up are superbly designed and extremely compact - even with the included high-magnification lens.
All models in the MV600 series utilise IEEE 1394, feature Night Mode, a colour LCD and colour EVF
High Performance Lens and CCD
Each model uses a totally new 1/6-inch 800,000-pixel CCD, to produce even higher resolution movies. The range also incorporates the MACS (Multi Architecture Camera System) to optimise best quality image settings for movies and stills, depending on whether displayed on TV, PC, or printed via the Direct Print function (no PC is needed).
Each model is also equipped with a high-performance two-sided aspheric Canon lens. The MV630i uses an optical 20x / digital 400x zoom lens for video.
Multi-media Card / SD Memory Card Slot
The MV630i also includes an 8 MB SD Memory card. Thus, in addition to capturing still images on a DV tape, a SD Memory Card can also be used to record, store and retrieve still images. This slot, which is also compatible with MMC cards, provides better PC affinity, because it allows simple transfer of these still images to a PC, using a PC card adapter and card reader, without needing to connect to a PC by a DV cable.
Progressive Photo System
Canon’s Progressive Photo system in the MV630i provides excellent digital picture quality. With this system, a mechanical shutter is used concurrently with an interlace scan CCD to eliminate time lag blurring and capture clear and sharp still images. The enhanced picture quality produced by progressive photo mode will be especially evident when observing the printed digital images.
Digital Animation Mix
In addition to combining still images, the MV630i can combine images with animations recorded on a card and recorded to tape.
Direct Print
Simply connect your camcorder directly to a compatible BJ printer to obtain a quick picture.
PC Connection Kit (USB)
For enhanced PC connectivity, the MV630i includes a PC connection kit which provides a USB cable as well as a Digital Video Solution Disk. With this kit, users are able to connect the camcorder to a PC via the USB cable for high-speed transfer of still images from the memory card. Once imported, the images can then be edited and processed with the use of the Digital Video Solution Disk.
