Fast and responsive, the EOS 1D is ideal for professional field photography
Canon's flagship EOS-1D redefines total performance. This unique camera is unsurpassed for strength, durability and weather-resistance and also gives unmatched control of images, from folder creation in-camera to the software used to view images on computer.
Fast and responsive
The EOS-1D has a continuous shooting speed of eight frames per second in either Single Shot or AI Servo mode and can sustain this for 21 frame bursts. Major advances in large-volume data processing technology, a completely new imaging engine, and advances in mirror speed technology all contribute to the speed and responsiveness of this exceptional camera.
Built for professional use
The camera body is built of cast magnesium alloy and combines strength, rigidity and effective magnetic shielding of the electronic components. It has also been engineered to withstand extremes in temperature. No professional SLR has been as effectively protected from dust and the elements as the EOS-1D.
High resolution
The EOS-1D's high resolution XL (extra large) CCD uses 4.15 megapixels to create a true 11.7 MB file in a photographic 2:3 aspect ratio. The large CCD sensor gives a lens focal factor of only 1.3x, which means fewer adjustments and compensation for lens focal length.
Computer compatible
New controls in the EOS-1D driver software enable EOS-1D images to be downloaded via a compatible Windows or Macintosh computer, using either the camera's built-in high-speed IEEE1304 connector or by removing the CF card and inserting it into a card reader.
