This hood is designed to be used when you want to improve the visibility of the LCD monitor of the HVR-V1E, or when you want to prevent light from the LCD monitor leaking out into the surroundings, like when shooting a classical music concert in a darkened hall. It is designed to fold up while still attached to the monitor, so it can also serve as an LCD cover when in transit.
