Picture quality is assured on the DCR-DVD403E by the very reliable Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar T lens. Its unique Sony Primary Colour Filter on the CCD is comprised of RGB filters for more accurate colour reproduction, while a greater number of pixels in the filters leads to higher light sensitivity. Improvements brought by the Primary Colour filter include enhanced video colour reproduction and more accurate skin tones. The DCR-DVD403E provides true 16:9 wide screen recording, taking advantage of the full width of the 3Megapixel CCD, results in a wider angle of view and a higher resolution picture than 4:3 methods. This is ideal for playback on today’s popular wide screen TVs and for wide screen playback on the camera itself the camcorders also feature a 2.7-inch Wide Hybrid LCD monitor. The DCR-DVD403E features a built-in microphone that is always ready to record in 5.1-channel Surround sound, producing a complete DVD that can be played back to the full on a home theatre system. 5.1 channel surround audio is perfect for use in conjunction with today’s wide screen TVs giving a cinematic sound and feel to your home movies.
